We are stronger together

The rivalry in search of music festival audiences was left behind to create a movement that aims to raise awareness and promote a change in behavior in society. Better World (Rock in Rio), Everything is New (Nos Alive), Music in the Heart (Super Bock Super Rock and Meo Sudoeste, among others) and Pic Nic (Nos Primavera Sound) are some of the 15 promoters who join the initiative “DeclareAção (DeclarAction).”

The inspiration came from the nomination of Lisbon as “European Green Capital” and seeks to integrate and mobilize young people from all over the country to build a more just and balanced society. Workshops will be promoted from which the 17 actions to be taken to improve areas such as climate change, diversity or social inclusion will emerge. All initiatives will be based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Corticeira Amorim renews brand for its 150th year

Corticeira Amorim, the world’s largest company of cork products and the most international of Portuguese companies, turns 150 in 2020. To celebrate the milestone, the company underwent a “future-oriented” rebranding. The company entrusted the challenge to Atelier Eduardo Aires, which found the central reference in the cork oak to build a new identity. The human dimension, respect for the terms and conditions of the natural ecosystem and alignment with the global objectives of sustainable development guided the transformation. The new brand can be checked on the company’s website: https://www.amorim.com/

Wine pairs with social impact

Symington Family Estates, one of the world’s largest premium port wine producers and one of Portugal’s leading wine producers, has created a fund that aims to support social, cultural, and environmental charities in various regions of the country. Fundo de Impacto (Impact Fund) has one million euros to distribute to the best projects in areas such as community well-being and health, environmental protection, and conservation, as well as cultural heritage and education.

The fund was inspired by two anniversaries that the wine producer will celebrate this year: the bicentenary of Graham’s brand and the 350 years of the Warre’s brand. Partnerships have already been signed with the Volunteer Firefighters Corporations of the Douro Region and an agreement with an organization in the area of environmental protection and conservation will soon be announced.
